❤💛💙🐁 Mouse Paint 🐁💙💛❤
We've been getting the Quarter Notes ready for the Suzuki Art Show. Please save the date of Sunday, April 5th. We hope to see you there!
Happy Birthday to Ana! Thank you to Ana's family for sharing such fun morning snacks with everyone! The Quarter Notes love to celebrate birthdays!
(If your child has a summer birthday, please see us to arrange a morning snack in June so we don't miss celebrating your child's special day!)
Mouse Paint is an adorable book about some white mice who dip their toes into different primary paint colors. When they mix their feet into another mouse's paint puddle, they create a secondary color. We demonstrated the process to the class during circle time with props. The kids loved seeing paper mice dipping their toes into real paint. Everyone did a great job recognizing their colors. Plus, it's fun to paint with paper mice!
Because we're learning about different artists in school, we asked everyone what they thought an artist did. Afterwards, we played a fun artist matching game. Each child picked a picture out of a bag, then matched it to pictures that were laid out on the circle rug.
The Quarter Notes have been practicing writing their names, letters, and numbers with markers on wipeable, laminated sheets.
Mrs. Crugnale went to Florida over February vacation. She shared some coral with the class. This was an opportunity to use the magnifying glasses, to ask questions, and use our budding observational skills.
Mrs. Mei read the book, Red House, Tree House, Itty Bitty Brown Mouse during Mandarin. She pointed to the different colors, animals, fruit, and other vocabulary words we've learned while she read.
Miss Lisa and Miss Becca are getting the kids ready to learn how to hold the foam violins. The kids put their feet in rest position, bowed for four seconds, put their feet in playing position, made a "shelf" with their arms, while Miss Lisa went to everyone individually and helped them put the violin under their chins. We sang Old MacDonald, and played the sticks to Wee Willy Winky, and Butterscotch, butterscotch, Mississippi, stop, stop.
The weather has been typical New England.... warm one day and cold the next! In order for friends to be comfortable outside, please remember hats, gloves, and warm coats while we transition into warmer weather. Thank you!
😊 Have a great weekend!😊
