First Week of Quarter Notes
This week was very exciting! We enjoyed meeting our new students and their parents. First days can be hard for all of us and our Quarter Notes crushed it! We have been mainly concentrating on getting the children used to their new surroundings, teachers, and routines. Getting to know each other will take some time, but we were so glad to have the children hold our hands and accept and ask us for help from day one!
On the very first day of school we took a tour of our classroom and learned what each area is called and where the toys and supplies are located. We showed everyone the bathroom and have been having very successful potty times! Which is great for everyone.
The Q.N. did a wonderful job sitting down during circle time! We were very impressed! During our circle we learned our days of the week, did our calendar, and weather. There has also been a lot of dancing!
Activities this week included drawing, puzzles, and play dough. We used cookie cutters to make different animal shapes. The Quarter Notes have been learning to clean up after themselves ( toys and snack/lunch). We have learned a special clean up song that tells us when it's time to clean up our areas and transition to our next activity. The children will learn the songs and routines and will even be reminding us of the schedule in no time!
The weather has been beautiful and perfect for exploring our new playground! We have been learning how to play on the playground equipment and take turns with bikes, balls, and a hula hoop! As the weather changes (cooler mornings and hot afternoons) please remember to dress children in layers. As the cooler weather approaches please bring in sweaters, jackets, hats, mittens, etc. so we can enjoy our outside experience comfortably. Thank you!
Our daily schedule will be as follows:
8:00 drop off - Free play/Planned Activities/ Bathroom
9 ish: Morning Book
9:30 - Snack
10:00 - Bathroom/Outside Play ( weather permitting
10:30 - Mandarin (Mon and Fri)
Music (Tues and Thurs)
Private piano and violin lessons throughout the week.
11:00 - Activities/Planned Curriculum.
11:30 - Calendar and Weather
11:40 - Bathroom
12:00 - Lunch/ Pick up
12:30 ish- Bathroom
1:00 - Outside Play
1:30 - " Sleepers " ( children who nap go. upstairs in the napping room.)/
Bathroom.
3:00 - (snacktine for non sleepers)
3:15/3:30 - Wake up time and snacktime for
Sleepers/Bathroom.
OUTSIDE PLAY (weather permitting )
* Even though we have scheduled bathroom visits, some child will need more or less toileting. Whenever a child asks to use the bathroom they will be taken.
