🐄 Old MacDonald Had A Farm 🐑
Everyone had such a great time learning about chickens last week, that we decided to go with a farm theme again this week! Our learning and crafts were based on the classics: Old MacDonald, Baa Baa Black Sheep, The Little Red Hen, Sandra Boyton's, Barnyard Dance, and more.
The Quarter Notes decorated black sheep with with cotton balls, smooshed Muddy Piggy sensory bags, created cow masks, and matched numbers 1 thru 10 using numbered popsicle sticks that created a barnyard fence.
Monday and Friday in Mandarin, Mrs. Mei read us a book called, My Friend Rabbit. The book characters were a rabbit, elephant, alligator, squirrel, mouse, rhino, and a bear. We learned how to say these words in Mandarin. Mrs. Mei also showed us flashcards of birthday cakes with candles. We counted the candles in Mandarin, said the word for two, then said, "I am two years old!" Each child had the opportunity to repeat the phrase in Mandarin. Flashcards of the sun, moon, and stars were shown and the words were repeated from last week. Our friends are impressing us with their memories! They are counting and picking up Mandarin words so quickly!
Miss Becca played her beautiful violin for us! We practiced sitting, standing up, marching, and floating depending on the music. The children really seemed to enjoy her playing. Each child was asked to come and pluck a string on Miss Becca's violin with one finger. 🎻
On Tuesday and Thursday, Miss Lisa taught us Mississippi Stop Stop. We practice walking in a circle fast and slow depending in the beat. When the beat on the drum sounded like Mississippi Stop Stop, we changed direction. We had to listen very carefully! 🥁
If you are able to bring in Pull Ups with detachable tabs, it would he appreciated! We have been doing so well with our potty training that we are now working on our independence. It's important that when the children first feel they have to go to the bathroom that they can do so quickly. Thank you! 😊
● PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE CLOSED MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH. SEE YOU TUESDAY!
😊 Have a great long weekend! 😊
