The first day of school went really well! No one cried, everyone wore their masks, and everyone tried the bathroom twice.
The first week is about learning school routines and expectations. We learned times that we wash our hands, line up, and transition to different activities or circle. These Quarter Notes are already pros.
Next week, we should be adding in our Mandarin and Music classes. I will keep you posted.
The children are making fast friends with eachother. I'm suggesting words/phrases like, please, thank you, May I have a turn when you're done?, and Excuse Me (It's hard to be patient and lines can be tough!)
I'm asking our new friends questions: How many people in your family?, pets, likes and dislikes. Charts were made and the Q.N. colored in their answers. The children made their very first self portrait. I'll keep the drawings and share them with you at our parent/teacher meetings in November, then again in May. They'll come so far in such a short period of time.
The Q.N. also created mixed media silhouettes in their likeness using paper "clothing" in their favorite colors, yarn, and buttons.. This artwork will be displayed on our classroom bulletin board (Picture below).
Thanks for sharing your kids with me. I know it's hard to send them off to preschool, please know that they are safe and well taken care of.
Have a great weekend!

*Friendly reminders:
* If you haven't already, please bring a labeled shoe box with seasonally appropriate clothing for your child's cubby. Accidents or food/water spills happen. 😊 When they do, please wash and return clothing.
*We'll be working hard on potty training. Thank you for assisting at home!
*Please make sure you bring a morning and/or afternoon snack in separate baggies. If your child stays for lunch, make sure your child has a lunchbox just for lunch.
I appreciate your help!
