COOKIE COUNTING 9/29-10/2

                 🍪 Cookie Counting🍪

"C" is for Cookie! We mostly concentrated on numbers this week, but we certainly couldn't leave out this fun Sesame Street song or play Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar. We also read Dr. Suess', One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

The class pretended to bake numbered cookies. They were then glued onto "cookie sheets". Stamp markers helped the children to recognize that numbers are symbols that represent a quantity. In this case, the "chocolate chips".

Pom poms were glued onto construction paper pea pods, "vintage" Oreo Cookie manipultives (from when my siblings were younger, and I used with my own children.) were used to help with one on one number correspondence, and will be used again later in the year when we learn patterning.

Mandarin: Mrs. Mei taught us numbers and the word STOP. The class learned a goodbye song.

Music: Ms. Lisa showed the class how to tap their knees to the beat while we sang,  Peas Porridge Hot.  We moved scarves fast or slow depending on the music.  There are many aspiring lyrical dancers in the Quarter Notes! 😂 Ms. Lisa also came in to serenade us Friday during our morning snack time. The class colored in violins.

*PLEASE BRING A MAC AND CHEESE BOX (or equivalent sized box) TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY. THE Q.N. WILL BE MAKING BOX VIOLINS WITH MS. LISA. THANK YOU!

Sports: It rained on our Sports day so we went into the main music school and moved our bodies inside.

      😊 Have a wonderful weekend! 😊
