🎃 HALLOWEEN 🎃
The Quarter Notes are getting excited for Halloween. We got in the spirit with Halloween themed curriculum. Spider Web letter matching was out all week. Everyone received one on one attention, but the children also helped each other with the first letter of their names.
The class painted wooden witch cutouts with their choice of paint mixed with glitter. When the paint dried, the children put an eye sticker on the witch. We also made spiders using our fine motor skills to lace black pipe cleaners into orange circles. They look spooktacular!
The Quarter Notes got their own bag with floam. Although floam is fun, it helps to strengthen those little hands, just like Playdough does. I will continue to provide fun activities like this all year. Fine motor skills are so important, and fun activities like this will help make many daily tasks less frustrating including zippering their backpacks, lunchbox, opening containers, and putting on their own clothing.
It's fun to get messy! We had fun writing numbers then painted our index fingers and made "spider" fingerprint(s) that corresponded with the numbers.
We welcomed a new classmate this week.
WELCOME, CASEY!
Music: Practiced our Spooky Suzuki songs, used rhythm sticks, marched to the drum/turned around when we heard Mississippi Stop, Stop.
Violin: Practiced resting feet, playing feet. Bow hand. Practiced for Spooky Suzuki. Introduced to box violins. Pointed to parts of the violin.
Mandarin: Mrs. Mei taught the children how to count 1-5 in Mandarin, animals, and singing our Goodbye song.
Sports: Bikes, Obstacle course, throwing football, balancing, and Yoga. The children are getting a lot of activities that are great for their balance and gross motor skills.
😊 Have a great weekend! 😊
