GNOMEvember 11/02-6

                  🧚‍♀️🧙‍♂️ Gnomevember 🧙‍♂️🧚‍♂️

The Quarter Notes have enjoyed an enchanting week of fairies and gnomes. We made fairy gardens with recyables, dollar store figurines, and treasures. The curriculum was inspired after looking through my home book, Fairy Houses/Unbelievable! A Photographic Tour,  by Barry and Tracy Kane. The creativity and photography are amazing. I used to make fairy houses with my own children, using this book as reference, when they were younger.

The class made gnomes using mixed media. We colored in a toadstool, used circular stickers for the polka dots, and tried writing the numbers 1-10 on stickers and on an acorn worksheet. The children also made gnome houses out of a construction paper tree trunk and put stickers behind the door as a surprise.

The book, Hedgie's Surprise, by Jan Brett, was a huge hit! Henny (chicken) and Hedgie (hedgehog) are the main characters. I've included pictures of my daughter's hedgehog, Trixie Wigglebottoms, and my chickens below.  Sadly, Trixie and the chickens are no longer with us, but the children don't know that. ;) I hope they enjoy the animal pictures.

The weather was so beautiful today! I took the class to the playground down the street with Mrs. Malari. The Quarter Notes enjoyed their walk (we saw pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and a "banana car").

*Thank you for meeting with me on Tuesday.  It was great to talk with all of you. 😊

Mandarin: Thank you to those who submitted pictures of your family members.  The children loved seeing their family on the television! Counted and learned the words, heart, dad, mom, older and younger brother and sister.

Music: Learning Thanksgiving songs and practicing feet positions, parts of the violin, and how to put down/pick up the box violins.

Sports: No Sports this week.

* Reminder: No School on Wednesday, Nov. 11th.

                    😊  Have a great weekend! 😊
