SPRING GARDENS/FLOWERS 03/29-04/01

             🌼 SPRING GARDENS/FLOWERS 🌼

A ton of fun activities were fit into a short week. The Quarter Notes learned about flowers by looking at diagrams and reading books. We made our own drawings of flowers, their root system, and what they need to grow (rain and sunshine). The seeds we planted last week have started to sprout.  The class is shown their terracotta pots every morning. The Quarter Notes get very excited to see the progress. 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

We hopped right into an Easter basket art project by cutting pictures of flowers and gluing them onto our construction paper baskets. Some children chose to add drawings on their baskets with crayons. The baskets were beautiful! 🐣

Colorful flower shaped buttons were layed out on the math table.  The children chose two colors to start an AB pattern. The colors were then alternated on laminated pattern strips. Some friends made more elaborate patterns as the week went on. I added bunny counters (erasers) to see what sort of counting games and patterning the class could come up with. Good job, Quarter Notes! 😍

The circle rug was filled with fake flowers, painted styrofoam from my Christmas deliveries, the windup chicks and bunnies, and fake veggies. There was a lot of cute socio-dramatic fun.

The Quarter Notes worked hard tracing numbers and letters on some bunny themed worksheets.  They also traced wiggly lines. This activity will help with future handwriting skills. 🐇

We stuffed a burlap bunny bag with tissues.  The children crumpled up the tissues and put them into the bag until they thought it was full. I tied a twine bow and cut little ears. There were so many friends saying, "I love you!",  after we finished this project. Who would think they would love a bag stuffed with tissues so much! I love my class! 🥰

APRIL FOOLS!!! I pranked the class by asking them if they wanted brownies for snack. Of course they did! Too bad I served up brown "E"s instead. Not quite as tasty! 😂 After some explaing the class was laughing at the silly joke. (My daughter's name is April.  This is her least favorite day/month. Sorry, April.)

It rained on Thursday, so we had a bunny themed dance party, read bunny books (Peter Rabbit and Rosemary Welles ', Bunny Money), and had an Easter egg hunt after Sports class.

Mandarin: Singing songs. Learning words for toothbrush, toothpaste, brushing our teeth.

Music: Stomping, clapping, keep the beat on our knees. Vivaldi/Spring.  Using egg shakers, rythm sticks, and scarves to the music.

Sports: Rainbow ribbons and bikes.

*Reminder: We are off on Friday to observe Good Friday. See you Monday, April 6th. 😊

*I will be sending the boots and snowpants home today. 🤞

Max's seeds were the first to sprout!

Cupid turned 2 this past weekend. The kids love to see pictures of him during snack or lunch. He looks angelic, but he's a little devil.   😂

Who wants brownies? 😂

Such disappointment.
