🦁🦓🐯 ZOOTOPIA 🐯🦓🦁
Woah! It has been tremendously hot this this week. 🔥 The Quarter Notes kept cool with a mist station and sprinklers. Even the teachers ran through the sprinklers. It was so hot out that our clothing dried very quickly, and the kids always bring their water outside so we stay hydrated. I have been asked about masks outside. They are no longer required.
* June 8th Update: Please refer to Deb's new email regarding state mask wearing guidelines. 😊
The Quarter Notes love the plastic zoo animals so we have been making a zoo out of blocks and creating fun animal crafts all week. The class and I have talked about what different animals eat and whether the animals are a carnivore, herbivore, or an omnivore.
Zoo animal and letter magnets were out on the table so we could identify the first letter of each animal.
Zoo early handwriting worksheets were out. The kids followed the zig zag and squiggly lines to help prepare for next year's handwriting books.
The math table had zoo animals number puzzles. The children either counted or identified numbers, then found the matching pieces. The magnetic numbers were used for counting animal groupings (4 giraffes, etc.).
We made lions out of paper plates, paint, and googly eyes. The children cut the lions mane using scissors.
Mandarin: Reviewing learned vocabulary. Singing the Mother's Day/ I Love You song. Saying animals and numbers in Mandarin. Learning a Father's Day song and forming sentences with vocabulary words.
Music: Blue Jello game, Mississippi Stop, Stop, and rythym sticks.
Sports: Rainbow strings and bikes.
Reminder: Last Day of school is Friday, June 18th. Dismissal is at 1:00.
* Hopedale's Fairy Walk is tomorrow, Saturday, June 12th, in the Parklands from 10:00 am - 4 pm. This is a fun and free event in my town. It's a mile walk to the bridge with characters and fairy houses lining the pathway. It's a straight, scenic ride on Route 16 West and a right at the Cumbies/Stone Furniture lights through the center of town until you reach the Hopedale Pond/Parklands (conservation land). Pull wagons or walking is better than strollers since the pathways are unpaved. Street parking only. 🧚♂️🧚♀️
😊 Have a great weekend! 😊
