ALL ABOUT ME! 9/13-17

                          😊 ALL ABOUT ME! 😊

Week number two was great! We established our classroom routines and expectations, and had our very first Mandarin and Music classes with Mrs. Mei and Ms. Lisa.

The Quarter Notes made self portraits using different mixed media (googly eyes, yarn, paper, and crayons). The class had fun being creative and gluing on the paper clothing. You can find pictures of the bulletin board below.

We practiced recognizing our names and counting how many letters it has. The class has been doing well finding their cubbies, and independently getting their own water, snack(s), lunch, and using the bathroom.

Each child talked about their family members and if they had any siblings or pets. We made an eye chart so we could see how many of us had brown, blue, green or hazel eyes. Kids like to look in mirrors so we had each child look at themselves in the classroom mirror.

We measured everyone using yarn, then hung the yarn up on the wall. We can use the yarn during the school year to see how much we've grown! 🌱

It was fun learning about our ourselves and our friend's families!

MANDARIN: introduced to Mrs. Mei. Learned the word for flower, bird, dog, eyes and nose.  Looked at different objects with our eyes. Smelled a strip of orange essential oil with our nose. Learned songs. Next week we will celebrate the Moon Festival.
