GNOMEVEMBER 11/08-12

                   🍄🧚‍♀️ GNOMEVEMBER 🧚‍♀️🍄

It's that time again! Gnomevember. 😂 A time for fairy gardens and gnomes. Few things are sweeter than the Quarter Notes creating their own little fantasy gardens using natural and found objects.  We made ours out of sushi trays, sheet moss, little mushroom people, rocks from the Suzuki playground, twigs, seashells, glass rocks, and gems. They turned out great! 🧚‍♀️

We read a couple of books during circle time that were read to our own children when they were younger.  The images and titles are below.

Math Mushrooms were made using red mushroom cut outs and circular white stickers.  We counted out ten stickers together, then wrote over pre written numbers. The final product was put onto the classroom bulletin board with our gnomes! A picture is posted below. 🍄

Mushroom letters were cut out and could be traced with white board markers. We sang the Handwriting Without Tears song, Where Do We Start Our Letters? The answer is: at the top!

An adorable fairy fort was out for exploration and play. There were little fairy dolls, mushroom furniture, acorns, and crockery. So cute!

Gnome Math was played by rolling the dice, counting the dots, counting out the same number of gnomes. The Quarter Notes are really great at counting!

We made made paper outfits and dressed the gnomes at the art table.  Friends took their time decorating the clothing with stamping markers, then glued on hats and a heart. They look adorable.

Fairy buttons were used to make patterns on laminated pattern sheets.

Of course there was a tea party! Friday's rain gave us the opportunity to practice mindfulness with some woodland fairy friends; Eeny, Meeny Miney, and Mo. We used breathing exercises and our imaginations as we poured tea and walked in the soft grass of the forest. A link to this YouTube Guided Meditation exercise is provided below.

* We will be closed to observe Veteran's Day on Thursday, November 11th.

🐌 Joe the Storyteller came on Wednesday.  He used puppets to tell stories to everyone at Suzuki. There were a lot of laughs. Pictures are posted below.

🍄 MANDARIN: Colors, Weather, and family members (Mother, father, grandparents, older and younger sisters and brothers). Everyone's family photos were labled so the children could share their family members with the class.

🍄 MUSIC: Practiced Thanksgiving songs, played a turkey game with music, xylophone, and clapping or taping to Mississippi Stop, Stop.

🍄 SPORTS: Rainbow streamers, stretching, kicking a soccer ball.

               🌳 Have a wonderful weekend! 🌳
