MLK Day 1/18-21

  ☮ ❤๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ MLK DAY ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก❤☮

This week was all about friendship and being kind to one another.  The Quarter Notes already do a wonderful job being good friends, but Martin Luther King Day is a great opportunity to remind the class to be a good friend to everyone. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Each child picked a different skin tone silhouette and decorated it using glue, tissue paper squares, and gems.

The words, LOVE, PEACE, MLK, and FRIEND were put into plastic sleeves for early handwriting skills and letter recognition.

The class sang friendship songs, read books about friendship, strung friendship bracelets, and made a friendship wreath by painting our hands and stamping them onto a posterboard.

Everyone received compliments from their friends during circle time. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thomas Knight performed a virtual puppet show on Wednesday.  The Quarter Notes seemed to enjoy his fun songs about the solar system, recycling, and The Billy Goats Gruff. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ You can view his page at: Tomknight.com

The class read the book, Should I Share My Ice Cream?, and enjoyed a puppet show with Gerald, Piggie, and a pretend ice cream.

Making letters is fun when you use bags of paint! Everyone used their pointer fingers to follow the HWT letter cards. The smiley faces and arrows helped to remind the children to start their letters at the top and the direction to go (straight down or curved).

☮ Mandarin: Zodiac animals, snowmen, Happy New Year songs.

☮ Music: Mississippi Stop Stop, Beats, Blue Jello.

☮ Sports: Rainbow strings and kicking soccer balls.
