Butterflies

                 🍃🐛🦋 Butterflies 🦋🐛🍃

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf....

Around this time of year, we usually would have done a unit on Eric Carle's, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and watched our very own classroom caterpillars make their cocoons and metamorphsize into beautiful butterflies.  The butterflies would have then been released outside on our Suzuki playground.  Unfortunately,  this year even though we were unable to have a classroom situation, we have been viewing our caterpillars on Zoom! The caterpillars ate and ate and have just made their cocoons that are hanging on the top of a plastic container. Please join us today for our Q.N. meeting at 10:30 to learn more about caterpillars and butterflies.

Please find examples of a butterfly life cycle below.  We encourage you to print and cut out these examples, have your child put the pictures in order, and make their own butterfly journal (Sequencing).

You can really get creative by using mixed media, even stickers! Reference Eric Carle's book and use your child's paintings as inspiration. Cut up the paintings and make your own Eric Carle caterpillars, butterflies, and food.
