🐅 🐉 🐲 LUNAR NEW YEAR 🐲 🐉 🐅
Lunar New Year is so fun! After all of the snow we had on Saturday, we're probably all ready for spring to arrive, but Punxatawney Phil disappointed us yet again predicting six more weeks of winter.
To celebrate groundhog day we made a Pawksatawney Phil craft. Then made our own predictions of either an early spring or more winter. Afterwards, we lifted up cardboard blocks to see if Phil saw his shadow. Unfortunately, the groundhogs' shadow was underneath the blocks.
Lunar New Year was celebrated with dumplings during our snack time courtesy of Mrs. Mei. Beautiful envelopes with stickers inside were provided by Melody and her family. Thank you both! ❤❤
The Quarter Notes enjoyed watching lion dances on YouTube. We danced to music when we were unable to go outside and watched lion dance videos during our morning snacktimes.

🌸 MANDARIN : Mrs. Mei made delicious dumplings and helped everyone to write the character for SPRING using a brush and black ink. Recognized the character Chung and fu and different color balls. Read a Maizy Lunar New Year book.
🌸 MUSIC : Mississippi Stop Stop, Blue Jello, rythym sticks, Lunar New Year Dragon parade with scarves.
🌸 SPORTS : Rainbow strings and basketball.
